Our compassionate dental team ensure patients feel relaxed for their dental treatments by offering a range of technologies including digital x-rays, intra-oral cameras and laser dentistry. This enables us to achieve our commitment to dental excellence, comfort and care.
Soft tissue gum contouring is efficient and virtually pain-free thanks to the use of advanced laser technology.
If you have a “gummy smile” then gum contouring with laser dentistry may be the perfect solution for you. This treatment allows us to comfortably reshape the contours of your gum to meet a natural balance that compliments your ideal tooth portion and smile line. It is gentle and minimally invasive with little recovery time. The diode laser is also very effective on ulcers and cold sores. Ask our dentists if it could work for you.
Digital x- ray technology
Digital x-rays produce up to 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays. They can be viewed almost instantly as no film processing is required.
Radiography is an essential diagnostic procedure in dentistry that is used before, during and after the completion of treatment. This technology is also more accurate as the image can be magnified and adjusted for darkness and contrast.
OPG and CBCT
Our state-of-the-art digital OPG and CBCT machine means that you can have these important 2D and 3D diagnostic images taken in our rooms, without the need for referral to an imaging company.
Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT)
These 3D images are very accurate images that show teeth, soft tissue, nerve ending and bone in one single image.
CBCT can be used for:
- surgical planning
- diagnosing Temporo-Mandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ)
- determining accurate placement of implants
- detecting and measuring jaw tumours and
- determining bone structure and tooth orientation
These images give us a view of a variety of 3D views and angle that can be manipulated to allow us to evaluate and provide a more complete treatment plan.
Our intra-oral cameras are a great diagnostic tool to help us understand more about your mouth.
A small camera is used to see the inside of your mouth and the image is projected onto a computer screen for you to see. This helps us to correctly plan your treatment and to show you any areas of concern.
Intra Oral cameras can magnify the dental issues you may have to 25 times their size. We use this tool to help our patients to make informed decisions about their dental treatments.
Digital scanning technology allows us to take impressions of your teeth and gums without the need for messy moulds.
Scans are used to ensure the highest possible accuracy and can be used for printing 3D models, planning and producing orthodontic appliances, crowns, bridges and implant surgical guides.
